US State Senator was briefed on Science Park Concept

US State Senator Doug Overbey from Tennessee recently visited WITec headquarters in Ulm, Germany, to discuss the unique Science Park concept of the City of Ulm including its local business development strategies. The discussions were initiated by Robert Hirche, Managing Director of the WITec branch office in the US, which is located in Maryville, TN. Overbey supports the idea of establishing such a Science Park there and adopting some of the successful strategies of the Ulm Science Park. During the meeting, city representatives reported on the applied economic and strategic benefits provided by the Science Park in Ulm since its foundation. Dr. Joachim Koenen, Managing Director of WITec presented the company’s view on how a local business development can contribute ensuring long term success. After the briefing at WITec, Overbey and the WITec representatives also met with the Mayor of Ulm, Ivo Gönner, for further consultations.
